Create a life that brings you joy.
Even before the pandemic, you knew you needed to make changes. The pace of your days was out-of-control, work was stressful, and your relationships felt unfulfilling. You’d promise yourself that you were going to figure it all out, but you were too tired and busy to do anything but get through the day. Living a life that brought you joy felt like a luxury you couldn’t afford, so you put your head down and kept moving in the same direction.
Now you’re determined to use this strange time as a wake up call. You have an idea of how you want things to be, but you can’t quite make out the whole picture—like you’re looking through a camera lens that’s slightly out of focus. You’re nervous to take the first step because even if your old life wasn’t fulfilling, at least it was familiar. What if you try something different and it doesn’t work out?
It’s tempting to give in to fear and doubt, but going back to the status quo feels like a dead end.
You’re ready for change.
You want the support of a professional who can help you find the clarity and confidence to create a life that brings you a sense of ease and joy.
I can help.
My name is Pamela Hamer, and I’m a licensed clinical psychologist based in Denver Colorado. I create a reflective space where my clients can tune in to their own experience during weekly therapy sessions. Together we identify unhelpful patterns and beliefs that contribute to feelings of being stuck by learning more about their early life—always with the goal of using that understanding to make changes in the present. We explore fears that are holding them back, and identify small, steady changes they can make to ultimately transform their lives in a big way.
My clients change by learning to listen to themselves, using mindfulness techniques that increase their awareness of physical sensations, emotional responses and thoughts that arise during sessions. We look at how and why anxiety shows up, how to use it as a force for good, and how to tolerate uncomfortable feelings instead of avoiding or reacting. I use a strengths-based perspective to show my clients that no matter how much they’re struggling, there is always something going right, and to highlight how they can use their natural talents to support the changes they want to make.
